Damir Oraščanin has served as concertmaster of the Vienna Synchron Orchestra since 2020. Born in Belgrade, he studied in his hometown and at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, has performed as a soloist and chamber musician at the Vienna Musikverein, and holds positions with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and the Vienna Volksoper. With the mute in place, his playing reveals a softer, more refined side of the second violin, without losing any of its individual personality.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eA Complete Muted Palette. \u003c\/strong\u003eThe sampling sessions covered essentially the same comprehensive set of articulations as the original Synchron Solo Violin 2, but every note was recorded with the mute in place. Short notes include various spiccatos, staccatos, détachés, ricochet, and saltando. Long notes come with different releases and slides. Legato variants include normal, agile, slurred, portamento, and zigane. Sforzatos, tremolos, trills, harmonics, and pizzicatos round out the palette.
