Inside GeoShred Studio, GeoPizzBass puts the plucked double bass on a continuous pitch surface where finger position and pressure determine tone, attack, and resonance in real time. The multi-row layout follows the double bass's natural tuning in perfect fourths (E, A, D, G), making walking lines, melodic runs, and harmonic bass movement feel physically intuitive. Audio Modeling's SWAM engine models the complete physical behavior of string, bridge, and body as an ongoing acoustic event. The difference between a cushioned ballad tone and an aggressive bebop attack comes directly from pressure and gesture on the surface. GeoShred Studio's integrated FX rack delivers reverb, echo, and amp modeling throughout the performance chain.

The Plucked Bass's Acoustic Identity. The double bass is the largest member of the bowed string family, but in jazz from the swing era forward it is predominantly played pizzicato, the bow set aside entirely, strings plucked directly by the right hand. Unlike a plucked electric bass or guitar, the upright bass's long string length, high tension, and large acoustic body create a tone with a pronounced fundamental, fast initial transient, and warm decaying resonance that gives a jazz rhythm section its sense of forward motion. GeoPizzBass models that complete acoustic event as a continuous simulation, so the difference in touch between a bassist playing loose and fat versus tight and punchy translates directly into the model's output.
GeoShred Studio and GeoShred Control. GeoShred Studio is moForte's professional desktop instrument platform, running as a VST3, AU, or AUv3 plugin inside your DAW or as a standalone application. Its multi-row isomorphic surface tuned in perfect fourths maps intuitively to bass playing. Melodic movement, chromatic runs, and large interval jumps that would be awkward on a piano layout feel natural on the grid. Pressure response and real-time gesture mapping are native to the platform from the ground up.
GeoShred Control pairs over USB with GeoShred Studio, delivering a multi-touch iOS surface during live performance. Wind controllers, breath controllers, and MPE hardware connect directly as well.
