Naada Trumpet places a physically modeled trumpet inside GeoShred Studio, where lip tension dynamics, breath articulation, mute timbres, and vibrato respond directly to pressure and gesture on the playing surface. The instrument is fully polyphonic, supporting brass chords and layered horn lines simultaneously.
Works with MPE controllers, wind and breath controllers, and GeoShred Control, a free iPhone and iPad companion app that delivers a multi-touch expressive surface for live performance.
Naada Trumpet runs inside GeoShred Studio, placing the trumpet's bright, direct voice on GeoShred's multi-row continuous pitch surface. The model spans the full dynamic range from pianissimo to fortissimo, with lip tension dynamics, breath articulation, mute timbres, and vibrato responding continuously to pressure and gesture. Slide across the grid for smooth glissandi and pitch inflections; press into the surface to push from a soft, veiled tone into full brass projection. Because the instrument is polyphonic, you can voice trumpet section chords, layer horn lines, or sustain a held note while playing a solo above it. GeoShred's integrated FX rack adds EchoMT, Reverb, and AmpCab processing directly in the signal chain.

The Soprano Voice of Brass. The modern Bb trumpet is a cylindrical-bore brass instrument with three piston valves, a cup-shaped mouthpiece, and a flaring bell. The player produces pitches by buzzing the lips into the mouthpiece at different tensions while operating valves to change tube length. Its tone is bright, direct, and powerful, carrying over full orchestral and band textures with penetrating clarity. Trumpets in their most primitive forms appear in the archaeological record of ancient Egypt, Scandinavia, China, and the Aztec civilization; the valved chromatic trumpet emerged in 1818 and quickly became the soprano lead voice of the brass section. The model captures the full dynamic arc from a contained pianissimo to a blazing fortissimo.
GeoShred Studio and GeoShred Control. GeoShred Studio operates as a VST3, AU, or AUv3 plugin inside major DAWs, or as a standalone application. Its isomorphic surface is tuned in perfect fourths, providing a layout where melodic intervals repeat consistently across rows. Pressure and gesture are mapped continuously to instrument parameters, making the surface a direct conduit for expression rather than a series of on/off triggers.
GeoShred Control is a free companion app for iPhone and iPad that connects via USB, adding a second multi-touch expressive surface for live performance. MPE hardware controllers and wind or breath controllers connect directly to GeoShred Studio as well.
