A Bold Lower Register. The bass trumpet brings a darker, more resonant tone to the brass family, adding body and gravitas. While it retains the typical trumpet characteristics across all registers, its timbre is uniquely mighty, full, and rich. Recorded dry in its purest form at Vienna's purpose-built Silent Stage with its tight, controlled ambience, these distinctive sound qualities are ready to enhance your projects.

Brassy Depth. The bass trumpet was developed in the 19th century and has been used by composers such as Richard Wagner, Richard Strauss, Igor Stravinsky, and Leoš Janáček, who all leveraged its unique tonal qualities to great effect. In its lower register, the bass trumpet's timbre is reminiscent of the tenor trombone, though it lacks the trombone's warmth and fullness. Nevertheless, its rich, bassy sound remains incredibly powerful and captivating.

Versatile & Expressive. The library features a full set of expressive and dynamic articulations, offering various short and long notes, legatos (including fast legatos), crescendos and diminuendos, sfz, sffz, pfp, flutter tongue, and half and whole tone trills. Recording the samples relatively dry at the Silent Stage makes it possible to place them on your virtual stage and in the stereo field wherever you like, but also enables you to integrate the instrument with the Synchron Series by using the internal convolution reverb recreating Vienna's own scoring stage, Vienna Synchron Stage.
