The Depth of Brass. The contrabass trombone offers the lowest range within the trombone family, delivering a powerful and resonant sound. With its dark, metallic timbre, it can transition seamlessly from a subdued, melodic piano to massive, thunderous explosions. Recorded dry in its purest form at Vienna's purpose-built Silent Stage with its tight, controlled ambience, this instrument brings all the brassy depth you could ever need to productions across genres.
Weighty Addition & Flexible Depth. The contrabass trombone's deep, resonant tones are ideal for adding weight to brass sections or evoking an ominous atmosphere in cinematic scores. While capable of delivering intensity across its entire range, it truly shines in the lower register, often anchoring the four-part trombone group as the 4th trombone. Playing these deepest parts, the instrument produces uniquely rich and profoundly resonant low tones, creating a powerful bass foundation that enhances any brass section.
Versatile & Expressive. The library features a full set of expressive and dynamic articulations, offering various short and long notes, legatos (including fast legatos), crescendos and diminuendos, sfz, sffz, pfp, flutter tongue, and half and whole tone trills. Recording the samples relatively dry at the Silent Stage makes it possible to place them on your virtual stage and in the stereo field wherever you like, but also enables you to integrate the instrument with the Synchron Series by using the internal convolution reverb recreating Vienna's own scoring stage, Vienna Synchron Stage.
