Studio Overdrive. Overdrive features recordings of a legendary Steve Vai signature seven string guitar played through a distorted tube amp, implemented for playing on the keyboard. The instrument was recorded at our renowned Silent Stage and includes everything you need to make some noise, from power chords to legatos, hammer-ons/pull-offs, scale runs, scratches, e-bow and feedback fun.

Overview

  • Overdrive – distorted electric guitar
  • Steve Vai signature seven-string guitar
  • Heightened playabilty for fluid, authentic performances
  • Mixer Presets from close mic’d dry to delay and reverb FX

Electric. Overdrive’s distorted tube sound recordings come from hand-picked equipment: a Steve Vai signature seven-string guitar, played through a Brunetti XL II R-EVO amp head and a Marshall 1960TV 4x12" cabinet, perfectly fit for providing you with a completely real tube sound performance.

Power Up. Along with various short and sustained notes, power chords, slides, hammer-ons, pull-offs, picked notes, and more, you get loads of effect samples like octave runs, feedbacks, scratches, and e-bowed notes – for a smooth, fat sound and unbelievably realistic performances. All notes start at B0, extending the range of a standard quitar down a 4th.

Sampling. The samples were recorded in a relatively dry environment on the Silent Stage, allowing you to position the instrument anywhere in the stereo field or on your virtual stage with complete flexibility. Utilize the included mixer presets with built-in convolution reverb for ideal placement on Stage A of the Vienna Synchron Stage, or turn off any internal reverb and use an external placement and reverberation tool of your choice, such as the rooms of our Vienna MIR Pro 3D.
